ATF #4: CREATING OUT LOUD

For the fourth instalment of Theatre Network Australia’s 2021 Deconstructed Australian Theatre Forum, we partner with Dr Kate Power (University of Queensland) to deliver a 7-week program of the Creating out Loud’s peer learning circles for artists and art managers.

Creating out Loud is a peer learning program that provides a framework to rethink current practices, extend and deepen professional networks, both within and beyond the arts and culture sector, and provides an opportunity to support each other through knowledge-sharing, goal setting, and collaboration.

Over 7 sessions you will be guided through topics including facilitation, peer coaching, communicating value, sustainability, wellbeing, business models, and artistic practice. With discussions including evidenced based research to prompt individual reflection and group discussion and actions.

The program is part of a research project, led by Dr Kate Power, and as such participants will fill out a survey both before and after the program, and the final session will include a feedback component. This feedback will assist further development of the session guides and program framework. The current session guides have been reviewed by paid external diversity and inclusion consultants.

The sessions will run on Tuesdays OR Wednesdays from the 5th of October, with participants attending 1 session for 1 hour per week, for 7 weeks.

 

Participant Commitment: Total 8 Hours

  • Fill in Research Survey (Pre-program) – 15 mins
  • Attend the majority of the 7 sessions – 7.5 hrs
  • Option to Facilitate one session – (can opt out)
  • Fill in Research Survey (Post-program) – 15 mins

TNA will provide participants financial support including a $200 mental health allowance, $200 for developing your knowledge literacy in access, inclusion and diversity through professional development/training, and independents will also receive a $350 payment for participating in the program.

Places are limited and currently only open to TNA members. Applications from First Peoples, People of Colour, Deaf and disabled people and those based regionally will be prioritised.
