Get involved; house a theatre maker!
There are still Australian Theatre Forum delegates seeking Brisbane billets – can you help? If you have a spare room in Brisbane you can offer to an Australian theatre maker for the duration of the Forum (14-16 September), please get in touch. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in the ATF atmosphere and get to know another theatre industry professional, as well as helping out a colleague.

Queensland theatre pre-ATF meeting: 26 August
Following on from the initial pre – Australian Theatre Forum meeting, this informal meeting will provide the opportunity as a community of artists and industry members to meet and start a dialogue early in order to bring to the surface a more detailed (but not exclusive) list of issues pertinent to the Brisbane and Queensland theatre culture we may focus on during the Forum. Even if (and especially if) you are not attending the ATF, it would be great to get more of a sense of what is important to the Brisbane and Queensland theatre community – as well as a chance to catch up pre festival and have a yak. If you are interested to further the discussion and wish to join the get together at QTC on Friday 26 August, 5.30–7pm, please RSVP by Monday 22 August to Todd MacDonald.

Independent Producers Australia (IPA) Summit: 13 Sept
The National Summit, taking place alongside Brisbane Festival and the day before the Australian Theatre Forum, will serve as a gathering for independent producers and arts professionals who identify with the role of the producer, and those interested in exploring a career as an independent producer in the performing arts. IPA is pleased to announce that Helen Marriage will be the keynote speaker.
IPA is a peer organisation of Australian independent performing arts producers established to increase awareness of the role of producers, facilitate the creation, production and touring of Australian work nationally and internationally, and assist in ways to provide direct financial investment to producers to build sustainable infrastructure and business models.
When: Tuesday 13 September, 9.30am to 6pm

Theatre networks are forming around the country, from fledgling groups to the established Theatre Network Victoria and Theatre Council of Tasmania. If you are involved in a network in your state, or just interested in finding out more, grab lunch and meet in the Temporary Archive in the Park Mezzanine, Wednesday 14 September at 1.30pm.

Young People and the Arts Australia is hosting a breakfast at Moray Cafe on the corner of Merthyr Rd and Moray Street in New Farm on Thursday 15 September for YPAA members or those interested in learning more about YPAA. Power PAC Project: throughout Forum
The Theatre Board of the Australia Council for the Arts has commissioned APACA to develop a set of guidelines to assist regional, outer metropolitan and suburban performing arts centres to nurture the development of theatre production and presentation within their venues. James Buick, Consultant, will be attending the forum and is calling for delegates to consult with about the project. Contact James directly to set up a meeting.

AusStage Update: throughout Forum
Take a guided tour through the new AusStage visual interfaces for geographic mapping, visualizing networks of artists, and audience feedback using mobile phones. AusStage’s Joon-Yee Kwok will be set up in the Temporary Archive in the Park Mezzanine so do visit during the Forum.
